At Lawrence and Larimer, we are not just about fashion; we are about celebrating culture, community, and creativity. Recently, we had the honor of witnessing the vibrant culmination of Black History Month at Colorado State University's Iris & Michael Smith Alumni Center during the Black History Month Closing: Open Mic Night. This event was a powerful testament to love, unity, and the incredible talent within our communities.

The night was filled with electrifying performances from young artists like Jakye Nunley, who delivered a poignant rap titled “9 a.m. the West of Boulder,” alongside members of the Dream Create Inspire Tour such as Lane-O, Wayne Watts, and RO$$AY. These artists used their platforms to speak on themes of social justice, personal growth, and empowerment, resonating deeply with the audience and leaving a lasting impact.

As a brand, we are passionate about supporting movements that uplift and empower voices in our communities. We believe in creating clothing that not only reflects style but also embodies resilience, determination, and a commitment to breaking barriers. Seeing these talented artists proudly wearing our gear while sharing their messages of positivity and change fills us with immense pride.

United Men of Color President Joshua Duran highlighted the importance of focusing on the Black future and creating a positive narrative during Black Destiny Month, aligning perfectly with our values of embracing collective positivity and envisioning a brighter future for all. We love to see these young, talented artists representing our brand because it symbolizes the union of style with purpose and the celebration of diverse voices and perspectives.

As we continue to support and celebrate movements like Black Destiny Month, we invite our customers to join us in empowering and uplifting communities through fashion, art, and shared values of inclusivity and progress. Together, we can make a difference and inspire positive change in the world.
